01.1

Care in motion

Medical evacuation is not simply transport. It is continuous clinical care in a changing, resource-limited environment. Success depends on matching the patient, crew, transport platform, and destination.

01.2

Mission types

Missions may begin at the scene or another facility, and may be domestic or international. Each type has different requirements for time, crew, equipment, permissions, and contingencies.

01.3

The starting rule

Always ask: Why are we moving this patient now? What benefit is expected? What risks may emerge during the journey? If these answers are unclear, the transport plan is incomplete.
